Validate an app idea with store search data
Before you build, check whether people search for what your app would do and whether the apps they find are beatable. In ASOMaster, describe the idea in a sentence or two and choose Niche idea: it brainstorms the phrases people would type, checks each one in every market you pick, and shows demand, difficulty and the top apps for each. You get evidence, not a verdict.
How does it work?
- Write a brief. Who the app is for, what problem it solves, and what they would type when they have it. The brief keeps the AI's suggestions on topic.
- Explore the niche. In Add app, choose Niche idea and Explore this niche. Your AI provider proposes candidate phrases, and ASOMaster writes each one in the local language of every market you pick.
- Check every market. A rank check measures each phrase in each store: estimated volume, difficulty and the top ten apps with their rating counts. Connect Apple Ads or Google Ads to add real popularity.
- Sort by opportunity. Phrases with real demand and a beatable top ten rise to the top. Open any cell to see who ranks and whether they match the phrase in their name or subtitle.

What does a promising niche look like?
Several phrases with steady demand where positions 6 to 10 belong to apps with few ratings, in more than one market. A niche where every phrase is owned by apps with hundreds of thousands of ratings needs a different angle. A niche where nothing has demand may be a product nobody searches for, which is a marketing problem the store can't solve. Read keyword difficulty and search volume before you trust any single number.
What store data can't tell you
- Whether people will pay, stay or recommend the app. Search demand is one signal, not product validation.
- Exact search counts. Volume and difficulty are estimates; Apple Ads shows search popularity as a 1–5 level in its interface, and the finer score available through the API is a relative 1–100 index, not a search count.
- Demand that doesn't come through store search, such as social, referrals or the web.
Let an agent do the first pass
With ASOMaster's MCP server, you can ask Claude Code or Codex: "Brainstorm a niche for a sleep app for shift workers, check it in the US, UK, Germany and Japan, and list the five phrases with real demand and a beatable top ten." It runs the same steps in the app while you watch.
