ASO MCP server
An MCP server lets an AI agent such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor call a tool's functions directly. Here is which ASO tools offer one, and how ASOMaster's works.
Which ASO tools have an MCP server?
Several ASO and app-intelligence vendors now ship an official MCP server. ASOMaster includes a local one with 57 tools that runs next to the desktop app on Mac and Windows, with no cloud account. Astro, a Mac keyword tracker for the App Store, has a local MCP server in beta, and Wow Keywords has a local one inside its app. Among cloud suites, AppTweak offers MCP access with its paid API plans (calls use API credits), Appfigures runs a hosted server you sign in to with your account, AppFollow has a hosted server, MobileAction provides one with a token from its customer success team, and Sensor Tower sells MCP as an add-on for qualifying customers. Local servers work on data stored on your computer; hosted ones reach the vendor's cloud data, including market-wide estimates.
We make ASOMaster. Facts about other tools come from their own public pages, linked in the table. Checked on 2026-10-27
| Tool | Where the server runs | Access | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| ASOMaster | Local (stdio bridge to the desktop app) | ASOMaster Pro license; 57 tools | MCP docs |
| Astro | Local HTTP server, labelled beta | Astro subscription; 12 tools | tryastro.app/docs/mcp |
| Wow Keywords | Local, inside the app | Wow Keywords license | wowkeywords.com/docs/mcp |
| AppTweak | Hosted | AppTweak API plan; calls use API credits | developers.apptweak.com |
| Appfigures | Hosted | Appfigures account sign-in; some data needs higher plans | help.appfigures.com |
| AppFollow | Hosted | AppFollow account | appfollow.io/pricing |
| MobileAction | Hosted | Token from MobileAction; uses API credits | docs.mobileaction.co |
| Sensor Tower | Hosted | Add-on for qualifying Sensor Tower customers | sensortower.com |
Community-built, unofficial servers also exist for some of these products. We left them out: they aren't supported by the vendor, and at least one has had a published security advisory.
What can an agent do with ASOMaster's MCP server?
Nearly everything you can do in the app. An agent can read your keyword boards and single keywords, add your apps, rivals and niche ideas, build keyword lists with a local phrase per market, run rank checks, fetch popularity, and draft, localize and (with your approval) publish listings. Changes show up live in the app window, so you can watch and step in.
- Long work runs as jobs. Rank checks and AI drafts are queued; the agent waits with
wait_for_jobsinstead of timing out. - Estimates stay labelled. Estimated volume and difficulty are separate fields from real popularity, and the server tells agents never to present one as the other.
- Publishing needs you twice. The agent must quote your explicit go-ahead, and then the app asks you to confirm in a native dialog. Nothing is submitted for review.
- Secrets stay put. Console and ads keys go into your system keychain (macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager) and no tool returns them.
How do you connect it?
In the app, Settings › MCP clients › Install writes the entry for Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Cursor, Claude Desktop or Windsurf. Any other client can point at the bridge directly. For Claude Code on a Mac:
claude mcp add --scope user asomaster -- /Applications/ASOMaster.app/Contents/MacOS/asomaster-mcp
On Windows the bridge is %LOCALAPPDATA%\ASOMaster\asomaster-mcp.exe. The MCP docs have the config for every client and the full tool reference, and AI agents and MCP for ASO walks through five workflows with prompts.
Local or hosted: which fits?
A local server, like ASOMaster's, works on your own tracked apps and keeps the data on your computer; the agent sees what you track. A hosted server from a cloud suite reaches that vendor's database, which can include download estimates and history for apps you have never tracked, at the vendor's prices and API limits. Many teams use both: market intelligence from a suite, day-to-day keyword work locally.
