Phrase counts

PhraseTitleShortFullDensityFull description

Density is the share of the full description's words taken by the phrase. Labels follow the rule of thumb in our Google Play ASO guide: three to five mentions of a core phrase across a full description is covered, more than six (or over 3%) starts to read as stuffing. Google publishes no target number.

The rules it checks

  • Length. Title up to 30 characters, short description up to 80, full description up to 4,000 (Google: create and set up your app).
  • No claims in the title about ranking, price or promotions, such as "best", "top", "#1", "free" or "sale", no emoji, and no ALL CAPS unless it's your brand (Google: metadata policy).
  • No platform or store names such as Google Play or Android in the title or short description.

These match the checks ASOMaster runs on Google Play drafts. Google also forbids keyword lists, misleading text and unattributed testimonials in descriptions; those need a person to judge.

What it can't tell you

Which phrases deserve the space. That depends on demand and on how strong the apps ranking for each phrase are, market by market. The ASOMaster Google Play tool measures rank, difficulty and popularity in 53 Google Play markets and drafts descriptions with phrase counts like these.

Privacy: the checker is a script in this page. What you type stays in your browser and is not stored or sent.
